Elgin White has today announced a three-year commitment to support KidsOut, the UK-based “fun and happiness” charity that gives disadvantaged children positive experiences to support them in becoming successful members of society and the workforce in the future.
Funds and time donated by Elgin White will be used to help install and maintain technology and internet connectivity within Women’s Aid refuges, to provide residents with access to learning tools and online entertainment.
Each year more than 20,000 children flee domestic abuse and seek sanctuary in refuge. KidsOut is the only charity nationally to support every child in a Women’s Aid federation refuge, providing toys, days out, workshops and more.
Typically leaving home with only the clothes they are wearing, these children have experienced various forms of physical and emotional abuse, and arrive at refuge with nothing. KidsOut works in collaboration with Women’s Aid, partner charities and corporate supporters, to remind these children and thousands of others living with disadvantages what it is like to be children – to have fun, experience joy and learn.
Erik Schutte, CEO at Elgin White said: “As a financial services consulting firm we spend every day working with business leaders around the globe to optimise, implement and support their technology environments. We are delighted to be working with KidsOut to help deliver the same kind of services for such a worthwhile cause.”
Commenting on Elgin White’s announcement Gordon Moulds, CEO at KidsOut, said: “Elgin White has supported our fundraising activity for more than a decade and their commitment to continue doing so into the future is much appreciated. We have been working overtime to provide disadvantaged children at refuge with access to valuable online resources. The funding and expertise that Elgin White is able to contribute will accelerate this project.”
